Dedicated to the memory of Iain House

This site is a tribute to Iain House, as well as a space for people to share their memories and aniqdotes. Many of us who knew him would say he was at times grumpy and set in his ways, and yet from his family to his friends at Waze and in his work he was known for his kindness and helpfulness. He will be missed by many friends and family members from across the world.

Whether you knew him as a child growing up, or from his days as a biker, through his time at Sidcup, or via the Waze community... we all carry his memory with us everywhere we go.

A little poem dad used to say often: "The elephant is a funny bird, it swings from bough to bough. It makes its nest in a rhubarb tree, and whistles like a cow."

"They went to sea in a Sieve, they did, In a Sieve they went to sea: In spite of all their friends could say, On a winter’s morn, on a stormy day, In a Sieve they went to sea! And when the Sieve turned round and round, And every one cried, ‘You’ll all be drowned!’ They called aloud, ‘Our Sieve ain’t big, But we don’t care a button! we don’t care a fig! In a Sieve we’ll go to sea!’ Far and few, far and few, Are the lands where the Jumblies live; Their heads are green, and their hands are blue, And they went to sea in a Sieve." - The Jumblies, Edward Lear Verse 1 from a poem that dad knew off by heart and used to recite to us before bed.

Spring Morning by AA Milne Where am I going? I don't quite know. Down to the stream where the king-cups grow- Up on the hill where the pine-trees blow- Anywhere, anywhere. I don't know. Where am I going? The clouds sail by, Little ones, baby ones, over the sky. Where am I going? The shadows pass, Little ones, baby ones, over the grass. If you were a cloud, and sailed up there, You'd sail on water as blue as air, And you'd see me here in the fields and say: "Doesn't the sky look green today?" Where am I going? The high rooks call: "It's awful fun to be born at all." Where am I going? The ring-doves coo: "We do have beautiful things to do." If you were a bird, and lived on high, You'd lean on the wind when the wind came by, You'd say to the wind when it took you away: "That's where I wanted to go today!" Where am I going? I don't quite know. What does it matter where people go? Down to the wood where the blue-bells grow- Anywhere, anywhere. I don't know.
